Ragnar Relay Series
The best recipe for healthy hair and skin is diet and exercise. To some people those are the two dreaded words and it does not have to be.
When it comes to exercising, it’s about finding something that you truly enjoy. That is all the motivation you need. If you need more, find a friend that will try out new fitness classes or programs with you.
I started running about a year ago. I was working out with the American Bootcamp Company(thebootcampcompany.com).I found that running helped my body as well as my sanity. Running with friends was especially nice. We would solve the problems of the world in a one hour jog. A few of us got together and decided to organize a team for the Ragnar Relay. We paired up with Indra Tobias and her friends of her Urban Run Club,(urbanrunclub.com). Indra Tobias became captain of our team and organized our adventure.
When I explain the Ragnar Relay,(ragnarrelay.com) most people think I am crazy. It’s ok, I take pride in my crazy. It consists of a 12 person team, two vans, and 200 miles from Chattanooga to Nashville. We spent 28 hours together with possibly 2 hours sleep in the van. Each person ran 3 legs that vary from 4-8 miles. The two vans helped by playing leap frog to drop off, support and pick up runners.
We had freezing temps with wind and rain through the back roads and hills of Tennessee. We were running in the middle of the night by some quite unusual sights with a head lamp to lead the way. I was warned of haints and crazed mountain dogs. The adventure was exciting and sometimes exhausting. The best part was the camaraderie of our team. We laughed and cheered each other on. I loved it!
