Everyone at Soda is super excited to have finally kicked off our Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Fundraiser. After working for a number of years to raise money, art supplies, and more for the Chirdren’s Hospital, my wife Tracey and I wanted to do more. Fortunately we have surrounded ourselves with a very special team of people at Soda and after discussing as a group what more we could do, it hit us. WHY NOT START a MINI SODA at CHOA? What an idea, take what we do best and share it with the kids and families who are in long term care at Children’s.

As we shared this idea with the amazing team at Children’s they thought it would be a perfect fit and greatly appreciated by the kids and families who are often far from home and family. The Soda team will volunteer our services and time to cut, style, and give a moment of escapism to some very special kids. As we have learned over the years, many of these families are from out of town and spend several months or more away from home. Our goal is to help them through their visit and learn how to work with their hair as it goes through the changes that happen with the different surgery’s and procedures they may go through durring their stay.

So this week we kicked off our efforts to raise money to build out a Mini Soda Salon in the Children’s Hospital. Our goal is to raise 50 thousand dollars to build a permanent location complete with all the equipment and tools needed to share a Soda Experience with the kids. Artists John Tindel and Chris Genth quickly volunteered to paint original artwork for the event. Then we were blown away by how our amazing neighboring buisnesses got on board as well by opening their spaces and donating items for our raffle fundraiser. Thankfully we had an amazing evening and a wonderful turnout to start our fundraising efforts.

You will read stories of other amazing people and companies who are eager to help these amazing kids, plus you will follow as our Soda Team meets and work with the kids and families of Children’s.
