Wow, what an amazing day…we just visited some super cool kids over at the Children’s Hospital of Atlanta!!! This is now our second official visit to the hospital, in which our team of amazing stylists are privileged to work with some truly awesome kids. Our goal is not only to give these kids and their families a moment of escapism during their stay at CHOA but also to accommodate them with cuts and styles suitable for each individual as they undergo various medical treatments.
My wife Tracey and I had the opportunity to work with seven super kids this week. They each had their own special idea of what they wanted us to do, be it blending out a short post-surgical hair cuts
, fancy blow drys or attach fun feather extensions.
Kids at CHOA keeping up with all the fashion trends
We had a blast, and I even found that just because they are kids didn’t mean we didn’t need to prove that we were the right people for the job.
This week I was able to follow up with one specific beautiful young lady who had a good thirty minute consultation during our previous visit. She was concerned whether I was capable of her requests. I assured her that all my years as a stylist in the salon, on film sets as well as runways had prepared me for this moment. The outcome was great and equally rewarding for the both of us. She allowed me to style her hair, and at the end of he experience , she said, “It’s beautiful!” I never get tired of feed back like that, especially from such discerning clients.
Tracey also had some poignant experiences.
Loving her new style
She had the opportunity to visit with two very special and charming sisters.
Big Smiles and New Styles
They both wanted matching graduated bobs for the summer and that is exactly what Tracey did as you can see. So much fun!!
As you may know, we are working hard to raise money in hopes we can have a permanent mini Soda Salon within the hospital. Currently, we are working out of CHOA’s little rehab gym, and although it allows us to have fun with the kids, it doesn’t allow for the true experience our team can offer these very deserving kids. Our goal is to provide the children at CHOA with actual styling chairs as well as equipment that will accommodate any and all of their special needs. We will also have storage space for products to give to the kids and their families, complementary, so as not to have issues with cross contamination that would jeopardize the kids’ delicate immune systems. If you or someone you know would like to help us raise our goal of 50 thousand dollars, please contact us. Your much needed support will help create a very special atmosphere where our Soda Team can pamper these wonderful kids and their families with some greatly appreciated TLC.
Fresh new Cut
Thank you kindly,
Erik Pearson and the entire Soda Team
